Julie and I used to have offices across the hall from each other. We’d simply lean back in our respective chairs to catch the eye of the other, hollering something like, “Did you bring lunch?” Each of us were a foregone conclusion when the other asked this…any excuse to hang for half an hour or so and eat something other than what we packed.
When I left that job, I missed the people the most. Julie was at the top of that list. She made me laugh, hugged me when I cried, and she had killer Star Wars drawings all over her office. I also appreciated that she’d always have at least one more science experiment (dirty coffee cup) on her desk than I did. Sometimes it’s the little things that make someone so endearing 🙂
Fast forward a few years and I finally meet Julie’s Bill. We were at a school function and Julie looked radiant next to this man. It’d be just over a year (?) later that she’d visit me at my house around Christmas.
We sat on the couch and she asked tons of questions, wanting to catch up on my girls, me, …life. That’s Julie — always putting others first.
Then she started to tell me this amazing story about Bill and how he PROPOSED. She holds up her hand and I finally notice the engagement ring. I screamed. Then I did the ugly cry…and so did she.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Julie & Bill – I was honored to capture your wedding day. Best of luck to you two and the boys. I look forward to doing your family pictures next year. 🙂
